Home Sweet Home FULL QUEST The Blood of Dawnwalker
Table of Contents

Finding yourself trapped in a repetitive nightmare is one of the most jarring experiences in The Blood of Dawnwalker. The "Home Sweet Home" quest takes players away from the standard vampire-hunting action and plunges them into a surreal time loop centered on Coen’s tragic past. If you are struggling to break the cycle or want to see every possible outcome, this guide provides the exact steps needed to survive the Ambrosius Tower.

Finding Ambrosius Tower

The quest begins at Ambrosius Tower, located within The Silts region on the southern edge of the world map. While it initially looks like a standard Scouting Tower used to reveal points of interest, the interior tells a different story.

Before you can enter the loop, you must clear the tower of hostiles, including a Witch-archetype miniboss named Svetlana the Dark Prodigy. Once the area is clear, you will find a door leading to a mysterious ritual. Entering this door requires 4x Time Segments. We strongly recommend saving your game before committing these resources, as the encounters ahead are uniquely challenging.

Surviving the Laslea Time Loop

Upon entering the ritual room, Coen is transported back to his childhood home in Laslea. While the atmosphere feels like a peaceful prologue, it quickly devolves into a series of combat encounters.

A critical mechanic to remember is that Coen is stripped of his high-end gear. You are forced to fight using common (grey) equipment and limited healing items like sausages and basic crafting ingredients. Your abilities and perks remain active, but your significantly lower stats make every hit dangerous.

Home Sweet Home Combat Phases

Phase Protector Enemy Type Objective
First Area Esme (Mother) Spectral Skeletons Defeat all skeletons to progress.
Second Area Siblings (Lunka, Yanna, Mirto) Vidmo Specters Protect the siblings and send them to the church.
Third Area Pieter (Father) Keeper of Nightmares Defeat the Gargoyle miniboss to finish the loop.

How to Escape the Time Loop

If you simply follow the quest markers and defeat the Gargoyle, the loop will reset, and you will find yourself back at the start of the day in Laslea. To truly finish the quest and return to the real world, follow these steps during your second run:

  1. Progress through the level until you defeat the Vidmo Specters in the second area.
  2. Tell your siblings to head to the church, but do not follow them toward the Gargoyle fight.
  3. Activate Focus Mode and inspect the well in the yard.
  4. Interact with the well to be transported to a shadow realm.
  5. Speak to the shadow version of Coen and choose "Alin" when prompted.
  6. Use your Shadowstep or Planeshift abilities to navigate the floating ledges.
  7. During the funeral memory, provide the following responses to the priest: Alin -> Esme -> Coen.

By correctly identifying Alin—Coen's younger brother who tragically drowned—you confront the repressed guilt that powers the loop, allowing Coen to finally wake up.

Secret Ending: Together Forever

For completionists and achievement hunters, there is a hidden conclusion to this quest. According to community reports on GameSpot, you can unlock the "Together Forever" achievement by refusing to break the cycle.

To trigger this, you must complete the full loop four times. On your fifth sequence, speak to Esme at the house. Instead of the usual dialogue, she will inform you that you are trapped with your family forever. The resulting cutscene is intentionally disturbing, ending the quest with a "bad" but unique finale.

Quest Rewards and Loot

Escaping the loop successfully yields some of the best witchcraft-related items in the game. Once Coen wakes up in Ambrosius Tower, you can loot the following from the defeated astrologer:

  • Astrologer’s Ring (Legendary): A top-tier accessory that provides significant buffs to witchcraft ability damage and cooldowns, while also restoring AC (Action Charges) both passively and through actions.
  • Recipe for Supernatural’s Blood Infusion: Essential for high-level crafting.
  • Flask of Quicksilver: Found on the top floor of the tower.
  • Unnatural Resilience Manual: Located in a chest on the tower’s balcony.

Don't forget to head to the very top of the tower to use the windwave. This will sync the tower to your map, revealing several nearby points of interest in The Silts.

Home Sweet Home FAQ

Why can't I use my legendary weapons in the loop?

The "Home Sweet Home" quest is a memory-based sequence. The game forces you to use common gear to simulate Coen's past, making the combat a test of skill and ability usage rather than raw stats.

Where is the well located?

The well is in the yard near the second combat area (where you rescue Lunka, Yanna, and Mirto). You must use Focus Mode to see the interaction prompt during the second loop.

What happens if I pick the wrong name at the funeral?

Choosing the wrong name will typically force you to restart the shadow sequence or reset the loop. Ensure you pick Alin, as he is the key to Coen's repressed trauma.
